Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, also known as simply Bloomsburg, Bloom or BU, is a public university in Bloomsburg, which is the county seat of Columbia County, and the only incorporated town in the US state of Pennsylvania, having a population estimated at a number of more than 12 000 inhabitants, during the 2000 census.
BU was established in 1839 and it is one of the 14 state universities that compose the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE). It currently offers its students a total of 58 undergraduate and 16 graduate programs, including a doctorate in audiology program, and a ROTC program.
Bloom's athletic teams are known as the Huskies and they compete in NCAA Division II, in the traditional intercollegiate sports for both men and women.
